Focus Timely is built around a simple idea: your focus data is yours. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, what we don't, and the choices you have. It covers the product as it exists today — the free timer app, this website, and the launch waitlist.

The short version

Who we are

Focus Timely ("we", "us") is a focus-timer product operated by Humming Web, based in Sydney, Australia. You can reach us any time at [email protected].

Your timer data stays on your device

The free app at focustimely.com/app stores everything locally in your browser (using a technology called localStorage): your sessions, tasks, notes, categories, settings, and history. This data never leaves your device and is never sent to us or anyone else. We have no account system today, so there's nothing for us to see.

Because it lives in your browser, clearing your browser data will remove it. The app has an Export option that saves everything to a file you control — use it to back up or move your history to another device. Importing that file is the only way data moves between devices right now.

The launch waitlist

If you choose to join the waitlist, we collect only what you submit in the form — typically your name, email address, and how you'd describe your work (e.g. freelancer, agency). We use this strictly to:

This information is processed through our automation tool and stored in a private Google Sheet that only we can access. We don't share it, sell it, or add you to unrelated mailing lists. You can ask us to remove you at any time by emailing [email protected], and every email we send will include an unsubscribe option.

Analytics & cookies

On the website (not the app), we use Google Analytics, loaded via Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors find and use the site — which pages are read, roughly where traffic comes from, and what's working. This helps us improve the product.

We run this with consent first. When you first visit, analytics and any advertising-related storage are switched off by default. Nothing is measured until you choose Accept on the cookie banner. If you Decline, no analytics cookies are set and no usage data is collected.

If you accept, Google may set cookies to measure your visit. The data Google processes can include pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, and basic device and browser information. We use Google's tools for measurement only; we do not currently run advertising campaigns. You can read how Google handles this data in the Google Privacy Policy.

One small note: your consent choice itself is remembered using local storage in your browser (a flag, not a tracking cookie) so we don't ask you on every visit.

Changing your cookie choice

You can withdraw or change your consent at any time. Resetting it here will clear your saved choice — the next time you visit the site, the banner will appear again so you can decide afresh.

Who we share data with

We keep the list of third parties deliberately short:

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertising networks or data brokers.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you (which today is limited to waitlist details, if you joined). Depending on where you live, you may have these rights under laws such as the Australian Privacy Act or the GDPR. To make a request, email [email protected] and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

Children

Focus Timely isn't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page as the product evolves and post the new date at the top. Focus Timely is growing: accounts, cloud sync, paid subscriptions, and optional integrations (such as Notion and Google Sheets export) are on the way. When those launch, they'll involve storing data on our servers and working with a payment provider, and we'll revise this policy to explain exactly how that works before you use them.
